What quality do you value most in a friend?
Honesty? Loyalty? Trustworthiness? Nope, nope, and nope. Those are NOT qualities I especially value in a friend. Those are requisites to even be allowed to board my ship of friends. I rarely interact/associate with those who are void of any and/or all of those three standard basic qualities.
What I value most in a friend isn’t something everyone possesses. Nor is it a requirement to be considered friend worthy. Hence the added value in a friend’s ability to inspire me.
It’s important to have friends that I trust and know I can count on. But that doesn’t necessarily make me a better person. If anything, yes man friends can offer a sense of contentment. Which doesn’t really inspire me to do better.
