Have you ever broken a bone?
Much like everything in life, I find myself unable to see this as a black and white answer. How? Idk. Perhaps, it’s a perfect example of the shit storm that’s constantly brewing between my ears. 🤷
My initial reaction to this prompt was no. In fact, I’ve stated various times in the past that I have not broke a bone. Which is remarkable considering the number of instances I should have. I chalk it up to being an avid milk consumer as well as genetics. My brother blew his ACL while playing college football and the surgeon told him he didn’t ever have to worry about breaking his femur bone. He said he wouldn’t live through whatever would have the force to break that bone. I’m not quite the 6’5 290lb freak specimen he is but assume my bones are stronger than most.
Growing up on a farm and years of contact sports provided numerous opportunities to break something. The falling of farm implements, getting ran over and smashed by cattle and football helmets have fractured various finger and arm bones. The conflict of whether or not I’ve “broken” any bones doesn’t end with a few fractures. It gets deeper.
I’ve have bones shattered and cleanly cut through. Not necessarily broke. You tell me how I should’ve answered this.
Pictures below show where one index finger had the very tip removed. The other index finger suffered a clean cut and was able to be reattached. Albeit, slightly crooked. I’m currently unable to locate pictures of my shattered pinky toe and face. My toe was crushed and I could feel three separate chunks of bone floating around within it. A horse left me with an eye dangling out after he shattered half of my face.
Broken bones? I say no, but am I accurate? 🤔

WOW! I don’t agree that milk does a body good-apparently it doesn’t like me and until the last decade I have never broken a bone (knock on wood). But wow-shattered has a whole different meaning doesn’t it 😀 Glad you are still in one (assuming) piece enough to blog. I am curious if you have the seasonal pain that people with any time of bone trauma experiences? Well, here’s to hoping the rest of your days are break and shatter free 🙂 again, knocking on wood!
